On 11-2-2026, Alexander Zverev is the #1 player on ATP Tour. He is the new #1 in the men's tennis rankings. Alexander Zverev won his first French Open in June 2026; and Mr. Zverev won his first US Open in September 2026. At Wimbledon in July 2026, Zverev made his first grand slam final on grass surface. Zverev has made it to all four grand slam finals in his career, as he achieved the same feat like Andy 'Muzza' Murray - the great Scottish Tennis player. Next, Jannik Sinner won Wimbledon in July 2026. Mr. Sinner did not participate in US Open, as he dealt with right knee injury and inflammation. Magnus Norman will become the new coach for Jannik Sinner, since Darren Cahill is retiring from coaching at the end of 2026. Norman has extensive coaching experience, as he helped Stanislas Wawrinka to win three grand slam titles. In October 2026, Wawrinka retired from tennis at the age of 41. Onto the top US player, Ben Shelton made it to the US Open final for the first time. He lost to Zverev in four sets; and Shelton is ranked #4 currently. Juan Carlos Ferrero will join Shelton's team, as another coach. Ferrero coached Carlos Alcaraz for seven years, from 2019 to December 2025. Mr. Ferrero won 2003 French Open as a great Spanish player; and he lost in the US Open final in 2003 to Andy Roddick. Mr. Ferrero will work with Ben from December 2026 onward. For the author and audience, these massive coaching changes come as a 100% shock/surprise to many tennis fans. Elena Rybakina is the #1 player in women's tennis, as she won her first US Open and first Australian Open this year. Aryna Sabalenka found a way to lose in both of those finals. She has lost 4 of her past 5 grand slam finals, as her mental psyche loses it in incredible style. Sabalenka has not won a WTA tournament in more than 7 months. In closing, this year had some good sports stories for men's and women's tennis. What will 2027 bring as the ATP and WTA tours start in Australia and New Zealand? Enjoy the picture of Magnus Norman and Jannik Sinner. Hope Mr. Sinner wins the French Open in June 2027 to complete his career grand slam. Congratulations to Carlos Alcaraz for winning Australian Open in 2026 to complete the career grand slam. Adiós, amigos!!
