Durant and Irving staying in Brooklyn; Lakers add Beverley

As the summer ends, there is more drama in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets will not be trading Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving, as both players are staying in Barclays Center. Joe Tsai and the rest of the Nets management met with Kevin Durant earlier this week, and both parties will move on from the trade talks. The goal is that Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the Nets will play together in the 2022-2023 NBA season. Steve Nash will continue to coach the Nets, and Sean Marks will continue his role as General Manager of the Nets. In the Western Conference, the LA Lakers traded Talen Horton Tucker and Stanley Johnson to Utah. Utah traded Patrick Beverley to the Lakers, which could be considered an upgrade for the Lakers. Beverley is known to be a good defender, and he adds some impressive 3-point shooting. One big question is how will Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley be on the same team. In the past, both players did not mesh well when they were on different teams. With Darvin Ham as the new coach in LA, Westbrook's role will change. Coach Ham has made it very clear to Westbrook that he needs to have a much better season than last year. Lebron James agreed to a two year, $97.1 million contract extension through the 2024-2025 season with the Lakers. This news is great for the Lakers, and the team should have their main goal be to make the NBA playoffs in the upcoming season. Lebron James could become the all-time scoring leader, if he surpasses Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's current record. With the start of the upcoming season about two months away, there are some familiar names that could contend for the title. The top five teams are the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, and LA Clippers for winning the NBA championship. As a Phoenix Suns fan, the team has to bounce back from their 2nd round loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The Suns will open their season at home against the Mavericks on October 19. Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton plus the rest of the Suns team are looking forward to the rematch. In this penultimate paragraph, let's continue with the Suns. Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges have a big opportunity to help the team get back to the top of the Western Conference. Coach Williams should start with expanding the roles of Johnson and Bridges. DeAndre Ayton staying with Suns, and Booker signs extension in NBA Free Agency 2022

For Phoenix Suns fans, DeAndre Ayton is staying with the Suns. The team matched the $133 million for 4 years, that the Indiana Pacers offered him. As of 7-15-2022, Ayton will stay with the Suns as a starter. The Suns signed Devin Booker to a 4 year, $224 million deal in early July 2022. This news is great for one of the leadings scorers on the Suns. In Brooklyn, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving both want to be traded. Kevin Durant listed the Suns and the Heat, as his top destinations. With Ayton and Booker staying in Phoenix, Durant will most likely not be heading to Phoenix. It has been two weeks since Kevin Durant talked to the Nets management, about his trade wishes. Who knows which team will get Durant? As for the aforementioned Irving, he did opt into the final year of his contract with Brooklyn. The Nets may not trade Kyrie or Durant until the 2022-23 season starts. The Nets did trade away James Harden earlier this year. The big question for Brooklyn is if Ben Simmons will play next year. Also, Joe Harris should come back to Brooklyn for the start of the season. As for other NBA stars, it looks like Russell Westbrook is staying with the LA Lakers. Russell opted in for the final year of his $47 million deal. There are rumors that he may get traded, but so far Westbrook is staying. The Lakers did get Juan Toscano-Anderson in free agency. The former NBA champion with the Warriors has signed with the team for a minimum deal. Back to the Suns, the team signed Damion Lee in free agency. Lee won a ring with the Golden State Warriors this past season. He is the brother in law of Stephen Curry also. The Suns did lose JaVale McGee, as he signed with the Dallas Mavericks. Speaking of Dallas, Jalen Brunson left the Mavericks for the New York Knicks. Finally, the Utah Jazz traded Rudy Gobert to Minnesota Timberwolves for Patrick Beverley; and five other players. PJ Tucker signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, as he played one year only in Miami. Kemba Walker got traded to the Detroit Pistons. Hope your favorite NBA team got the players, that you wanted. Golden State Warriors win NBA finals for fourth title in eight years

On June 16, the Golden State warriors won the NBA finals against the Boston Celtics. Golden State lost game 1 on their home court in Chase Center, in San Francisco. Yet, they found a way to win four out of the last five games in the series. The Warriors won game 6 on June 16, in Boston in convincing fashion. Boston won two out of the frst three games, and they appeared to be in contol until game 4 started. In the second half of game 4 in Boston, the Warriors and Stephen Curry found a way to even up the series. In this paragraph, let's discuss Stephen Curry's 43 points in game 4. In game 4, Curry and his teammates were down most of the game until the end of the 4th quarter. With Boston up by 4 (90-86), the Warriors went on a twenty one to seven run to close out the game by score of 107-97. In the final four minutes, Boston missed many key shots. Andrew Wiggins had a good defensive game on Jayson Tatum, and Wiggins scored some key baskets at the end of the game. With the game 4 victory, the momentum shifted back to Golden State and game 5 in Chase Center on June 13. In contrast, game 5 was a dismal shooting night for Stephen Curry. Curry missed all of his three point shot attempts, and he scored less than 20 points. Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins were the leading scorers in game 5. Wiggins scored twenty six points, and Thompson had twenty one points in game 5. Celtics fans would have thought that they could win the game, with Curry missing all his three point attempts. Jordan Poole provided a good scoring spark off the bench, for the Warriors. In game 2 and game 6, Draymond Green scored some key baskets to help the Warriors to victory. Green scored 12 points in game 6, which was his highest scoring outpout. Green did commit six fouls in three of the Finals games, which means he fouled out of those games. Green was not ejected from game 2, even though he did commit a technical foul early in the game. His on court demeanor in game 2 was a late spark for the Warriors to win game 2. In this penultimate paragraph, let's discuss Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum scoring differences. Jaylen Brown was the scoring leader for the Celtics. But, Tatum struggled as he committed 100 turnovers in the playoffs. In game 1 and game 6, Tatum struggled to score points in key stretches for Boston. Other players such as Al Horford and Marcus Smart did provide good scoring for the Celtics. Overall, the Celtics were beaten by a better Warriors team. In closing, the Celtics were denied their chance to win an 18th championship. The Celtics can learn from this series loss. The Warriors won their first title since 2018, when Finals MVP Kevin Durant led them to a series victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Stephen Curry won his first finals MVP trophy. Reading John Grisham's books, and seeing some movies from John Grisham's books

Back in the early 1990s, 'The Firm' became a hit movie and it was a John Grisham novel. This book was published in 1991, and it is the first John Grisham novel that I read. The movie is a thriller, and the book is a must read. In 1996, 'A Time to Kill' was a hit movie at the box office. This movie was another good John Grisham book. This book was published in 1989, and it is another John Grisham novel that I enjoyed reading. Next, Matt Damon starred in the 1997 film called 'The Rainmaker.' This movie is another good novel by Grisham, which was published in 1995. I enjoyed reading the book, and this movie was not a hit at the box office. If you are a fan of Julia Roberts, then 'The Pelican Brief' is a movie that you may want to see. This movie was another novel by Grisham, that I did read. Yet, it's one that I did not enjoy reading. In addition, Grisham wrote 'The Client'; 'The Chamber'; and 'The Runaway Jury'; which are novels that I did like. I read those books, and the movies were not as good as the novels. Grisham wrote 'A Painted House'; 'Skipping Christmas'; and 'Playing For Pizza'; which are novels that I read for pleasure. The latter book is based in Italy, and it is about football which was a plus for me to read it. Not all of John Grisham's are about law. The book titled 'Bleachers' is a book based on Messina High School football, which I did enjoy reading. In this penultimate paragraph, John Grisham wrote about Theodore Boone in seven novels that are in the young adult novel genre. Grisham has written twenty eight books on the New York Times best sellers list. Grisham writes short stories and non-fiction books, which shows his gamut for writing books. The different genres for John Grisham's novels are legal thriller; crime fiction; southern gothic; baseball; basketball; and football. Grisham has written eighteen books, which I read for pleasure plus informational reasons. John Grisham is one author that I admire for writing books, from diverse genres. Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics in NBA Finals 2022

Today, the Boston Celtics upset the Miami Heat in a game 7 in FTX Arena. The Celtics won game 7, and they won the series by the margin of 4-3. The Celtics won three out of four games on the road, in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston lost two of the first three games, then they won two games in a row. In game 6 of this eastern conference finals, Boston could not clinch the series at home. Celtics lost at home by eight points, but found a way to win game 7 tonight on the road in Miami. Next, the NBA finals is set for June 2 in San Francisco. The Celtics will play in Chase Center, against the Golden State Warriors. Golden State beat Dallas in five games, and Dallas was the #4 seed. The Warriors were the #3 seed in the Western Conference, and Boston Celtics are the #2 seed from the East. The Celtics and the Warriors split their season series, during the regular season. The Celtics will have to continue to win on the road, if they want to win the NBA Championship this year. Back to the Westside, the Dallas Mavericks upset the #1 Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Semifinals. Dallas won that series, by a 4-3 margin with a convincing victory in Phoenix in game 7. The Warriors beat Memphis Grizzlies in six games, even though Memphis was the #2 seed in West. Golden State is heading to their sixth finals appearance in the past eight years. The last time for Golden State in the finals was 2018-19 season. Toronto Raptors beat Golden State in that series, by a series margin of 4-2. Back to the Eastside, the Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks in game 7 in Boston. Milwaukee went up 3-2, with a game 5 win in Boston. The Celtics won game 6 in Milwaukee, and Boston won game 7 in a major blowout. The Celtics had a grinding series with the defending champion Bucks. Nonetheless, the Celtics vs. Heat is the best series in the Eastern Conference. If Miami beat Boston tonight, Jimmy Butler would have played in the NBA finals for the second time in past three years. In this penultimate paragraph, Boston has to find a way to stop Klay; Draymond; and Stephen Curry. Also, there are more weapons in Golden State with the likes of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins. Boston's defense will have to stop all five of these potential scoring threats. The Warriors will have to stop Jayson Tatum; Jaylen Brown; and Al Horford. From the defensive standpoint, the Warriors will have to stop Marcus Smart. Smart won the Defensive player of the year award in 2021-22 season. In closing, the Warriors have their work cut out to win their fourth championship in the past eight years. Boston Celtics won their last NBA championship in 2008, against the LA Lakers. Seeing H.E.R and Coldplay concert in 'Music of the Spheres' tour is AMAZING!!

Almost two days ago, G. Ripley saw H.E.R. perform in concert. She opened her set list with 'We going Crazy' without DJ Khaled and Migos. It is ok, that they did not show up. Her voice is awesome and she is a huge Coldplay fan. She played for forty five minutes and she sang other cool songs like 'Damage' and 'I can have it all.' The last thing for H.E.R. is she had to sing rock songs and more R&B hits from her collection. About fifty minutes later, Coldplay came on stage to the E.T. theme. Chris Martin and his three bandmates came onto the stage, by walking into the audience first. It was a surreal experience to see Coldplay sing their songs, with the audience wearing LED wristbands. The wristbands lit up with different colors, like red; green; purple; black and white. The show had pyrotechnics and fireworks of different colors. Coldplay sang old songs like 'charlie brown' and current songs like 'my universe.' Next, Coldplay decided to shoot a video with the audience. Coldplay told the audience to turn off their phones; and to stop shooting video or taking pictures. The audience followed the instructions suprisingly. For G. Ripley, his smartphone was turned off throughout the show. Coldplay played more than twenty songs in their setlist. Sitting in section 124 to see the show was amazing. In addition, the setlist for Coldplay was in the following order: Higher Power; Adventure of a Lifetime; Paradise; Charlie Brown; The Scientist; Viva la Vida; Hymn for the Weekend; Let Somebody Go; In My Place; Yellow; Sunrise; Human Heart; People of the Pride; Clocks; Infinity Sign; Something Just Like This; Midnight; My Universe; A Sky Full of Stars; Biutyful; Sparks; Fix You; Humankind. The crowd and atmosphere became electric during 'Viva La Vida' due to fireworks; confetti; and the LED wristbands. Coldplay is a group that my family members have seen, so it made me want to see this group so bad. In closing, seeing Coldplay up close was an unforgettable one. G. Ripley recommends this group, even though Dakota Johnson or Gwyneth Paltrow was not in the crowd. Chris Martin is linked to both of these actresses in his sensational romantic life. Coldplay made many different references to cleaning up the environment; and climate change as part of their epic concert.

Macron and Le Pen do rematch of the 2017 French presidential runoff

Within the past forty eight hours, Emmanuel Macron has won France's presidential election. He did fend off a historic challenge from far-right candidate Marine Le Pen. This runoff election on Sunday was a rematch of the 2017 French presidential runoff. Macron took 58.5% of Sunday's vote, while Le Pen got 41% of the remaining vote. This result made him the first French leader to be reelected in 20 years. Macron's second term in office will involve his pro-business agenda. Second, Macron's next term would be a committment to address all of France's current problems. Le Pen delivered a concession speech within a half hour of the first projection. She was speaking to her backers gathered at a pavilion in western Paris' Bois de Boulogne. Macron had to convince voters despite a mixed record on domestic issues. This handling of problems includes the yellow vest protests and the Covid-19 pandemic. Macron's win is a relief for the West. Third, Le Pen is a supporter of former president Donald Trump. She is a supporter of Vladimir Putin. Le Pen's party is National Rally, but she failed in rallying the French people to victory. Her party took out a loan from a Russian-Czech bank several years ago, that it is still repaying. Since Russia invaded Ukraine about 62 days ago, Le Pen has stopped supporting Putin. Le Pen is a lawyer and politician, and she was the far right contender. Fourth, there was group of people that compromised about a 28 percent that did not vote. This number is three percent more than the number in 2017. Macron represents La République En Marche! political party. This party is a liberal political group, which is only six years old. Macron will turn 45 years young in December 2022, and he is one of the founders of La Republique En Marche. At the age of 39, Macron became the youngest president in French history. In this penultimate paragraph, Macron has overseen reforms to labor laws. He has lobbied for reforms in taxation and pensions. He has pursued a renewable energy transition. In foreign policy, he called for reforms to the European Union. France signed bilateral treaties with Italy and Germany, during Macron's short time in power. Mukesh is the only Indian billionaire to make the top ten list. Mukesh is the managing director, and the largest shareholder of Reliance Industries Limited. Reliance is India's most valuable company by market value. Mukesh made the list for 2022, which includes nine other billionaires from India. Next, Gautam Adani is the second richest Indian billionaire with a net worth of $90 billion. Adani Green Energy Limited is owned by the Adani Group. He is an infrastructure tycoon, as he is the chairman of the conglomerate Adani Group. While Ambani lives in Antilia in Mumbai, Adani is from Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is the most populous city in Gujarat. As of April 2022, Adani has a net worth of $116.4 billion. In addition, this new number is making him the 6th richest person in the world. One of Adani's goals is for him to invest $70 billion to become the world’s biggest renewable energy producer by 2030. On a personal note, Adani did not graduate from college as he dropped out of Gujarat University. Adani entered the power generation business in 2006. 'Coda' wins three awards at the 94th Academy Awards, while 'The Power of the Dog' wins only one Oscar

Today, there is some major Hollywood buzz since the Academy Awards ended two days ago. The Power of the Dog won one award only, on March 27. The award was for Best Director, and Jane Campion won this award for the first time. The movie received a leading twelve nominations, but the movie won one award only. Like the power of the dog, Belfast won one award only. Kenneth Branagh won Best Original Screenplay, which is his first Oscar also. Next, 'Coda' won three awards including Best Picture. Troy Kotsur won his first Oscar for best supporting actor in 'Coda.' This award is the first given to a deaf actor. 'Coda' won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay as well. Ariana Debose won her first Oscar, for best supporting actress in 'West Side Story'. Jessica Chastain won her first Oscar, for best actress in 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye.' In addition, Will Smith won his first Oscar for best actor in 'King Richard.' 'Dune' won six awards out of ten nominations. Most of their awards were for the smaller categories like best sound; best original score; etc. The show was hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes. 'The Queen of Basketball' was a documentary that won an Oscar for Shaquille O'Neal and Stephen Curry. Both of these NBA championship winners did not go on the stage, to pick up their awards. As usual, the Academy Awards show went past the three hour limit. The show lasted almost 210 minutes. The ratings for this year's show did go up by 56% though, which was a nice increase. Will Packer was the producer extraordinaire of this year's Oscars. He employed an all-black production team. Finally, there was major controversy at the show with Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. Rock made a derogatory joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, which definitely irked Will. Jada Pinkett Smith is Will's wife, and she is suffering from Alopecia. Chris Rock's joke was made about 2.5 hours into the show. When Will Smith won his Oscar for best actor for King Richard, he did apologize to the academy and to his fellow nominees. Yesterday, Will did apologize on Twitter to Chris Rock. In closing, the AMPAS did issue a statement that the show does not condone violence. The LAPD will do their own investigation of the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident. Let's hope next year's show does not have major controversy like 2022. Today's stories are not about the devastating war in Ukraine. Instead, this weblog post is about Rafael Nadal; Novak Djokovic; Matthew Stafford; Tom Brady; and Lebron James (plus other NBA stars). Let's start with Rafael Nadal, as the Spaniard tennis star won the Australian Open in January 2022. Nadal beat Daniil Medvedev in a five set thriller. Nadal lost the first two sets, and he had to win the final three sets in an epic 324 minute match. Rafael Nadal won his 21st grand slam title, to break the tie with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. In sequence, Novak Djokovic is the next topic of the second paragraph. Novak did not get vaccinated against Covid-19, and he was deported from Australia in January 2022. Since he missed the Australian Open, he could not defend his title. The stubborn Serbian tennis star has won the Australian Open a record nine times. Yet, he is still ranked #1 in the ATP tennis rankings. Novak is not playing in the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA; and in the Miami Open in Miami, FL. Next, Tom Brady retired in February 2022 after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the LA Rams in the 2021 NFL season's divisional playoffs. Tom changed his mind to irritate the author of this post, on March 13, 2022. Brady has decided to come back for the 2022 NFL season. Like myself, there are a lot of fans that wish Brady did retire forever. In Super Bowl 56, the Buccaneers did not make it to this game. Following Tom Brady, this weblog post's fourth paragraph is centered on Matthew Stafford. Stafford led the Rams to victory over Brady in the divisional playoffs; and to another exciting victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56. Super Bowl 56 was played in SoFi stadium in Inglewood, CA. SoFi stands for the Social Finance company. Matthew Stafford won his first Super Bowl ring, and Vonn Miller won his second ring as they are teammmates for the LA Rams. Cooper Kupp won the Super Bowl MVP, as he caught two touchdown passes from Matthew Stafford. Onto the NBA, LeBron James is the main person in this fifth paragraph. LeBron James is playing for a LA Lakers organization that will not have a winning record this year. Currently, the Lakers are nine games under .500 with a record of 29 wins and 38 losses. James is tied for the league lead in scoring though. Anthony Davis has missed many games this year, and the Russell Westbrook trade did not produce great returns for the Lakeshow. Did World War 3 start? Ukraine is invaded by Dictator Putin in February 2022

On February 24, 2022; the world witnessed the beginning of another war in Europe and Asia. Russia is in the continent of Asia, and Ukraine is in Europe. Ukraine is a member of the European Union, and the country is technically a part of the United Nations. Yet, Dictator Vladimir Putin decided to tell his country and their troops to invade the Ukrainian country. World War III might have started, as cyberattacks will take place in the world. The US and the rest of world could be attacked on the internet, and in foreign secret service. Furthermore, the country of Ukraine does not need to be invaded. Leaders around the world like France's Macron; and Canada's Trudeau are trying to align with US President Joe Biden. On the other side, China and Russia are aligning together to be the real enemies. In 2022, the world is dealing with the Covid-19 global problems. Will the global economies go back into recession? This problem could be another debacle, as the cost of oil is above $100. Next, the oil cartel continues to hurt the US public citizen as gas prices may go to $5 for unleaded and other gas measurements (premium, diesel, etc.). This problem will hinder the US GDP, and the mid-term elections. The problem with the gas prices going up, is the people will want to stay home. The US public could go into a working depression. People will not want to spend their money, which means the consumer sentiment will go down. The last US recession happened in first and second quarter of 2020. In this fourth paragraph, let's discuss the failure of the Beijing winter Olympics. The chinese olympic idiots decided to make fake snow, and the real country to benefit is Norway. Norway had the most medals in the 2022 Winter Olympics, while the US finished fourth or fifth in the medal count. Congratulations to Norway for winning the most medals. The 2022 winter olympics was a bubble, as athletes had to isolate themselves from the general Chinese population. The wedding of primo and meredith, and how Ricky Greenleaf gave a beautiful champagne toast

In January 2022, a great friend of Ricky Greenleaf got married. Ricky's friend is named Primo Shotput. Primo and his fiance, Meredith; looked magnificent in their hindu wedding in Tempe, AZ. Both of them did a great job with performing the different aspects of the exciting ceremony. Ricky's mother helped Primo's family to get the wedding organized. Primo's wedding reception was the day after the wedding, and the wedding reception was in a well decorated hall in Mesa. On a lovely friday in January, Ricky Greenleaf asked Primo if he could do the champagne toast at Primo's wedding reception. Instead of drinking champagne, Ricky Greenleaf wanted to follow in the footsteps of the great ganpulo. Ricky decided to drink apple cider instead of champagne, as the great ganpulo has done this incredible process often. Ricky's champagne toast lasted almost 6 minutes, and his sister videotaped it on her Apple Iphone 12. Ricky spoke in length about his friendship with Primo Shotput, during the toast. Ricky made it a point to not be sentimental, while delivering a funny bit of humor about Primo's love for music. Furthermore, Primo has a melodious voice that Meredith and Ricky know quite well. Primo used to be a singer in the choir in high school, and during his college days at Trinity. In Trinity, Primo would run track with local friends. He became part of the college track team, which was a remarkable experience. In Trinity, Mr. Shotput did succeed by scoring 85% or higher in all of his college courses. Trinity is a small college located in San Antonio, TX. In this penultimate paragraph, Primo and Meredith were engaged for almost five months. Then, Ricky heard about their wedding from an e-mail invitation that Primo sent him on a beautiful November day in Tempe. Ricky thought about giving a speech, but he declined the offer. Eventually, the idea of a champagne toast was a way for Ricky to redeem himself. The champagne toast had to be delivered by researching different ideas, witty sayings, and brainstorming the perfect speech delivery tactics. When you deliver a speech, it is recommended that you win over the audience with a smile or a good joke. In closing, the wedding and wedding reception were two fun events that Ricky will remember. The dancing portion of the wedding reception is fun, as Greenleaf tries to cut a rug. Many times, Greenleaf wants to dance with beautiful ladies which does lead to romance.
