Flicks present and delayed for rest of 2021
In May, the summer movie season starts. With the Coronavirus Pandemic causing chaos in the film industry, some flicks will happen in May while blockbusters will happen later this year. At the end of this month, 'A Quiet Place Part II' is scheduled for May 28 release date. This movie is directed by John Krasinski, and the main character is played by Emily Blunt. Blunt and Krasinski team up again for the sequel, to the 2018 box office hit. The talented married couple could score another big hit, if people pack the theaters. In addition, 'Cruella' will be released on May 28. This movie is a prequel, which has Emma Stone playing the title character. The movie is a live action film, which follows a young Cruella De Vil. The trailer looks thrilling, and Emma will have an english accent. The movie takes place in London. This movie is distributed by Disney, and it should be a hit for kids and adults. Unfortunately, there will be a tenth installment of the 'Fast and Furious' movies on 6-25-2021. This one is titled 'F9'; and it's the ninth movie of the Fast and Furious series. John Cena and Charlize Theron are the main villains in the movie. Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez will share the screen, for the first time in the same scenes. 'Fast and Furious' movies are not my thing, and these wacky movies continue to be released. The first movie was released in 2001, and it was a hit. In other movie related news, 'Top Gun 2: Maverick' was scheduled for a 7-2-2021 release date. But, the movie will be released in November 2021 as coronavirus pandemic is shifting this flick to another date. 'Top Gun: Maverick' is the sequel to the original Tom Cruise hit from 1986. In the 2021 version, Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be back as 'Goose' and 'Iceman.' Jon Hamm; Jennifer Connelly; and Miles Teller are part of the supporting cast. In July, 'Black Widow' will be released on July 9 with Scarlett Johansson as the lead role. This Marvel and Walt Disney Studios movie is the 24th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow is played by Johansson, and this movie will be the eighth one for the Black Widow character. David Harbour; Florence Pugh; and Rachel Weisz play family members of Black Widow. This Marvel flick could be the big hit of the summer. With many people getting the vaccines on a global scale, the theaters could have a huge amount of people for seeing this action-packed movie. Lastly, June 2021 brings 'In the Heights' movie to big screens on June 11. This movie centers on the Washington Heights neighborhood, of New York City. The music is created by Lin Manuel Miranda, and Jon Chu directed the movie. Jon found success in directing 'Crazy Rich Asians' movie. Jimmy Smits; Corey Hawkins; and Anthony Ramos play supporting characters in this Warner Bros. musical drama film. G. Ripley is looking forward to catching that movie, in the theaters next month. Goodbye from Hollywood!

California reopening on June 15, 2021; and Silicon Valley office vacancy rate
About 15 days ago, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the California economy will reopen fully on 6-15-2021. The mask mandate for the state will continue. At this point, there is not a date that the statewide mask mandate will be lifted. California will lift most covid-19 restrictions by June 15, 2021. The economy of California is the largest in the United States, boasting a $3.2 trillion gross state product as of 2019. California would rank as the world's fifth largest economy, if it were a sovereign nation. In commercial real estate news, the high-tech region of Silicon Valley has reached its highest office vacancy rate since 2014. Office vacancies in Silicon Valley have increased for six straight quarters. Office vacancies hit double digit levels in Palo Alto and Santa Clara. Palo Alto is home to Stanford University, HP (Hewlett Packard), VMware, etc. Santa Clara is home to Intel, Applied Materials, Nvidia, ServiceNow, etc. There are many other IT companies located in Santa Clara, and Palo Alto. In April 2021, Google is allowing a small amount of US employees to return to the office voluntarily. All Google employees aren't required to return to the office, until at least September 2021. Salesforce will reopen its Salesforce tower in May 2021, while employees can continue to work from home through 2021. Salesforce Tower is located in San Francisco, and it is 61 stories high. Salesforce is projecting a small group of fully vaccinated employees can volunteer to work, in the Salesforce Tower. Salesforce Tower has over 1.4 million square feet of office space. Furthermore, Salesforce has reopened 22 offices across the country. The company said it will reopen Palo Alto and Irvine, California offices in April through June timeframe. The company has also been busy remodeling its offices, by adding Plexiglas; air purifiers; and handles that people can use without touching. In contrast, Atlassian and Zillow are two companies that have given the option to its employees to work from home permanently. Salesforce and Google want their employees to return to an office once to three times a week. This model is essentially a hybrid model, to fit the needs of most employees. In addition, Facebook says it is bringing back about 10% of its workers to its Menlo Park headquarters. The #1 social network is doing this massive step on May 10. Facebook's Fremont offices would reopen May 17. Its Sunnyvale offices would reopen on May 24. The company's downtown San Francisco offices plan on reopening on June 7, with similar capacity limits. With 17,000 employees, Facebook was Menlo Park’s largest employer in 2020. In closing, Apple and other companies are implementing a "hybrid environment" to return to in-person work. Apple is wanting some of its employees to return to the office, in June 2021. The companies are coming back to the office in phases. This process is including a phase 1, and a phase 2 approach. Companies return to office will be a huge shot in the arm, and continued good news for the US economy.

Pareto principle and other ludicrous interview questions, which are asked
Today, G. Ripley had a video call with a Prod. Support Manager at BO Company. BO Company is an insurance technology company, that works in 'Insurtech.' Insurtech is the combination of two words, insurance and technology. A true definition of Insurtech is the use of technology innovations designed to extrude savings and efficiency; from the current insurance industry. BO Company is one firm, in which BO does not mean body odor. Furthermore, the Prod. Support Manager started to ask random questions like 'what is the pareto principle?' The pareto principle does not have to do with software support, or application support. After the Prod. support manager asked me some technical questions, she asked me about the Pareto principle. The Pareto principle is a principle specifying that 80% of consequences come from 20%, of the causes. This principle asserts an unequal relationship, between inputs and outputs. The Pareto principle was created by acclaimed economist Vilfredo Pareto. Next, let's discuss Vilfredo Pareto and his achievements in Engineering; Economics; and sociology. Pareto lived in the 19th century, and he was a prominent economist until his death in 1923. Vilfredo earned/received a Phd in Engineering, from Polytechnic University of Turin. He is known for pioneering the Pareto Principle, which is known as the 80/20 rule. In Pareto's first work, Cours d'économie politique, Vilfredo showed that approximately 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population. Pareto's observation was regarding population and wealth primarily. Another way of looking at Pareto principle is in sales revenue, and business management. There is a familiar adage that "80% of sales come from 20% of clients." In the US, 20% of the population's top earners paid roughly 80–90% of Federal income taxes in 2000 and 2006. This situation or scenario happened again, in 2018. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer noted that by fixing the top 20% of the most-reported bugs, 80% of the related errors in a given system would be eliminated. That last statement shows how the 80/20 rule works, in quality assurance and software testing. In closing, the Pareto principle is not a principle used in software development or application support or coding per se. When an interviewer asks you, what is the pareto principle? The best way to answer it is 'I don't know, but I will search that one in google or other tech. journals.' Unfortunately, this answer is the one G. Ripley had to use today. Hopefully, a 2nd video call interview will happen. At the end of the day/week/month; Patience is the last virtue that G. Ripley has to possess. Arrivederci!!

The big 3 Cable News channels are fighting each other, in latest round of Cable journalism wars
On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden became the 46th president in a normal virtual inauguration. Since this day, the big three Cable News Channels of CNN; Fox News; and MSNBC are fighting for successful TV ratings in the Cable journalism wars. Don't tell CNN and Jeff Zucker about that news, as CNN has lost 36% of its primetime viewers since January 21. A recent data study by Nielsen Media Research gave light to the dismal ratings, that CNN President Jeff Zucker is fed up with. About six weeks ago, Zucker announced that he would be stepping down from his high profile role at the end of 2021. When Jeff Zucker leaves in December 2021, he will have spent nine successful years at the Atlanta based network. Speaking of well-known news reporting exits, afternoon anchor Brooke Baldwin is leaving CNN after thirteen successful years. Brooke is a beautiful, well-informed journalist who started working at the cable news channel in hopes of fulfilling one of her career dreams; to work in her hometown of Atlanta. On 2-16-2021, Baldwin started her afternoon (3 pm EST) broadcast by announcing that she's leaving CNN in April 2021. Baldwin mentioned that she does not have another journalism job lined up, as a fallback. Yet, she did mention that her next endeavor is writing her book. Her new book is a writing project, that she has been working on for the past two to three years. Furthermore, Brooke's new book is titled 'Huddle: How Women Unlock Their Collective Power.' The book expands on 'huddling' and its incredible trend/experience, that women have embraced on a global level. The definition of 'huddling' in this context is when women depend on one another in politics; activism; and everyday life to support each other in inspiration and collaboration. Whether women face workplace inequity; unequal incomes; and global pandemic, they are a highly potent resource to each other. The world that we live in deserves to be an equal one, for both genders to thrive in. Harper Business is the main publisher, on Brooke Baldwin's book which will be released to the reading public on April 6, 2021. In the next two paragraphs, it's back to the latest round of cable journalism wars and the big three cable news channels fight for viewership in the post Trump era. MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show was the most-watched program in its time slot averaging 4.2 million viewers; in January and February 2021. For Fox News Channel, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson continue to gain solid viewer/following in the 25-54 age demographics. While Sean Hannity's viewership fell to 3.1 million in the past 60 days, Tucker appears to be ringing in the new viewership for the Murdoch family owned network. Fox News is losing its mantle, as the #1 cable news channel in ratings in the first quarter of 2021. In the final three months of Trump's regime in the White House, Fox News dropped behind CNN and MSNBC. In addition, other fringe competitors like Newsmax and One America News Network (OANN) are trying to snatch up viewers. The fringe competitors are a group of Trump supporters and Republican right wing people. Instead, the fringe competitors are losing to the big three news channels. Fox News had the last laugh on presidential Donald. In contrast, Fox news channel journalists including Maria Bartiromo and Laura Ingraham have lost their credibility with viewers. There should be Fox network meetings/calls to management, that these two contradictory reporters should resign by end of 2021. In closing, see the picture above for the top three cable news channels standing on trust viewership of the news. The Monmouth University Poll was conducted in March 2-5, 2021. Monmouth University Polling Institute has become a highly credible source for public opinion research, since 2005. The public opinion research institute is based in West Long Branch, NJ. The establishment is led by director Patrick Murray. It is time for me to sign off, on another writing piece of thorough informative journalism for the worldly public. Good day!

Golden Globe winners and upcoming Hollywood awards dates for 2021
The 2021 Golden Globes happened on 2-28-2021; and the two hosts were Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Tina Fey was presenting awards in NYC at the Rainbow Room; while Amy Poehler did her hosting from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. There were some recognizable cameos by Kenan Thompson and Maya Rudolph, among other ones. Some of the big Golden Globe winners were Rosamund Pike for 'I Care A Lot' movie; Aaron Sorkin for Best Screenplay for 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' movie; Sacha Baron Cohen for Actor in 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' comedy movie; and Chadwick Boseman for Actor in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' movie. Other big winners were Daniel Kaluuya for Best Supporting Actor in 'Judas and the Black Messiah' movie; Jodie Foster for Best Supporting Actress in 'The Mauritanian' movie; and Chloe Zhao for Best Director of 'Nomadland.' Nomadland won the Best Picture award, and the best actress award went to Andra Day for 'The United States vs. Billie Holiday' movie. In addition, the Golden Globes awards were a mostly virtual show. The actors and actresses gave acceptance speeches via Zoom, or another Video communications software (like Microsoft Teams; Skype; or Cisco WebEx). There was an audience of less than 50 total people, in NYC and Beverly Hills, CA venues. On March 15, the Academy Awards announcement will happen courtesy of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. Nick and Priyanka got married in December 2018. Nick has a new song called 'This is Heaven'; from his newly released 'Superman' album. Next, the awards season continues with the DGA (directors guild of america awards on 4-10-2021); SAG (screen actors guild awards on 4-4-2021); and bafta awards (on 4-11-2021). Producers Guild of America (PGA) awards will happen virtually on 3-24-2021. The WGA (writers guild of america) awards will happen virtually on 3-21-2021. The frontrunners for DGA awards are Chloe Zhao for Nomadland; David Fincher for Mank; and Aaron Sorkin for The Trial of the Chicago 7. Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Women) and Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) were nominated for best director also. Regina King (One Night in Miami) and Florian Zeller (The Father) were nominated surprisingly, for First-Time Feature Film. In terms of the SAG awards, this awards show will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. The DGA awards will be held at 7920 Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, CA. The BAFTA awards are held at Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The PGA has offices in Los Angeles, and NYC. The WGA has offices in Los Angeles, and Hollywood. In this fifth paragraph, the Oscars will be on April 25, 2021. Once again, Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA will be the venue. Yet, there will be no in-person attendance at this time. There will not be a specific host for the 2021 Oscars, on ABC. In terms of after parties, the Governors Ball is the big one in which all the big winners attend. In closing, this awards season is like no other due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. The amount of crowd attendance will drop tremendously. But, the different awards shows will be on NBC; ABC; TBS; etc. Finally, the low attendance will lead to dismal TV ratings. Hopefully, 2021 is the last year of the covid-19 global pandemic for the entertainment and movie industries. Arrivederci from Hollywood, CA.

Living on Borrowed Time; true story of G. Ripley
In 2007, G. Ripley went through the most difficult nine months of his life. It all started with a fight for his life, against lymphodenopathy. The viral infection can lead to a diagnosis of cancer, in a year. Somehow, G. Ripley gave up alcohol and meat for 6 months. Doing these two processes led me to lose almost 25 lbs. of fat. It was the beginning of my 'borrowed time' life. Next, the true story of G. Ripley is that he lives on 'Borrowed Time.' The definition of borrowed time is an uncertain and usually uncontrolled postponement of something inevitable. In my case, something inevitable is death. The two processes that humans cannot avoid, is death and income taxes. This 411 is 100% true. 411 is information, that people have to dial and it is the truth. 411 is a number that Rahulio Ganpuleone knows about. In addition, Rahulio Ganpuleone is the same as rahul ganpule and g. ripley. Essentially, A=B=C. This one is the transitive property. Borrowed Time shows you the reader, that my life could have ended in 2007. At 31, G. Ripley's life could have delivered cancer into my world. Yet, G. Ripley found a way to deflect all the debacles that came next in the 24 unfortunate months. In contrast, the readers will ask 'how does borrowed time affect the rest of your life?' The answer is G. ripley has lived on bonus time since 2012. Since 2012, G. Ripley found a way to make $30 per hour in the application and systems support world. Since 2015, G. Ripley found a way to make $35 an hour in the application support; systems support; and software deployments world. When a person makes more money, the higher salary leads to a financial stability unheard of. Let's look at the fifth paragraph for more financial keys, to living a healthy and wealthy life. In this penultimate paragraph, financial stability is making $41 an hour and saving $10,000 every 12 months. If someone makes $85,000 a year, then they should save about $30,000. A financial consultant will tell you that you make $57000 to $60,000 per year. $25,000 to $28,000 is deducted via taxes; out of the $85000 salary. Then, living expenses and utilities could be another $18,000. The question is where is the other money going to be spent. In closing, money has to be saved in the right fashion. Today, G. ripley was approached by a beautiful; young smart lady (ysl) in Phoenix. She told me that my voice and confidence made me feel, as if I am 35 years old. In reality, G. ripley is forty four years young. The woman gave me her digits, and g. ripley hopes that he sees her again. Ladies that give incredible compliments will make my day, in a New York minute. Peace from the city that never sleeps. NYC is the city that never sleeps, in the song by Frank Sinatra.

Late night comedy with Seth M. and Stephen C.; plus golden globe announcements
Today is Super Bowl 55, and G. Ripley's plan is to get out of the house. The Super Bowl is not one of my events to watch on CBS this year. Don't tell Stephen Colbert that statement. Stephen Colbert and CBS are doing a special 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' after tonight's last nfl game. The show might be on at 11 pm EST, or another time. Stephen Colbert has turned into my favorite late night comedy show host, over the past 4 years. Next, Colbert started doing the Late Show in October 2015 when David Letterman ended his tenure at CBS. Colbert is happily married, and has three kids. His wife shows up to his shows this year, as there is no audience in the bleachers or studio at radio city music hall/ed sullivan theater in new york city. His wife is Evelyn McGee, and he calls her Evie. They have been married for more than 20 years, which is a beautiful friendship. Unfortunately, Colbert was diagnosed with positional vertigo in October 2020. In contrast, Seth Meyers is my favorite NBC late night talk show host. He used to be on SNL (saturday night live) on NBC; and he is a Northwestern University graduate. Seth Meyers has done hosting duties for the past 7 years on SNL. He is a longer tenured host then Stephen, but Colbert is funnier in my opinion. Meyers has done his late night tv show, without an audience also. Meyers did some of his shows from his home residence in early to mid-2020. In terms of nbc hosts, Jay Leno was my favorite until he retired. Jay Leno is a comedian, that I saw in 2016 in Scottsdale. His performance was super funny, at Talking Stick Resort in Arizona. Jay Leno and David Letterman used to compete, for the best talk show host in the late 1990s and early 2000s decades. Letterman was not my cup of tea, but his top 10 lists were on point always. Jay Leno has his own car show, on CNBC these days. In these two final paragraphs, G. Ripley will discuss Golden Globe nominations for the 2021 show on NBC on February 28, 2021. NBC's comedic female duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the show, for the fourth time. 'Mank' received six golden globe nominations, and this movie is incredibly cool in black and white. Amanda Seyfried is my pick to win the best supporting actress golden globe, as she got a nomination for her superb acting in 'Mank.' Leslie Odom Jr. is my pick to win best supporting actor golden globe, as he did a splendid job in 'One night in miami' movie. In the best director category, three women were nominated for their movies. The women are Emerald Fennell (promsing young woman); Regina King (one night in miami); and Chloe Zhao (nomadland). In closing, the show is most likely not going to have an audience at beverly hilton hotel. The show is broadcasted by NBC, and it is in beverly hills, CA. With the covid-19 global pandemic, many events are happening sans audience. Hope 'Mank' wins 2-3 awards; and it would be good to see 3-4 movies win an award on February 28. Until this event, there are not many upcoming blockbusters happening. Sadly, the 'No time to die' movie is pushed forward to October 2021 as the release date. Movie Studios are scrambling, on how to make a profit this year. It's a sad set of circumstances.
